Buying bitcoin is still an obstacle for the average person despite the digital currency being around for 10 years now. In fact, the recent exchange hacks and scams have brought created many skeptics. For those looking to just get their feet wet might find comfort in our new service CardxCoin.
What is CardxCoin?
CardxCoin is a non custodial online service that will take your unwanted gift cards and turn them into cash. Say your friend bought you a Target gift card for your birthday. The only problem is you never shop there! You could give the card away, or you could sell the card to cardxcoin.com.
- Go to cardxcoin.com and enter the gift card brand, number, balance, pin, and your cryptocurrency address. You may choose to receive any of the offered cryptocurrencies at no extra fee. Your card info won’t be saved until you have seen and accepted an offer for it.
- You will be shown an offer of what we will pay you for the card. This will depend on the brand but it is usually between 60% and 80% of the cards value. We have our rates posted here.
- If you choose to accept the offer, you may be asked for some additional identification. The gift card will be liquidated and your order will be accepted. Your cryptocurrency will be sent directly to your wallet.

How is CardxCoin Different Than Competitors?
We are committed to serving the cryptocurrency industry with honesty and transparency. We are a incorporated business CardxCoin LLC. Support is taken very seriously.
Paxful is a peer to peer service. Although they provide escrow and customer support, at the end of the day, the person your transacting with is unknown. There is little to stop someone from taking your gift card and spending it. All Paxful can do about this is ban the user. Their reputation means very little as people buy and sell accounts for very little money. There are honest traders but a huge number of scammers as well.
The rates you get at Paxful won’t compare to the rates you can get at cardxcoin. Vendors are used to being scammed in the peer to peer environment and must factor that into their fees. You are likely to get 10-20% less of your gift cards value on Paxful vs cardxcoin.
There is not much to say about local bitcoin as they have recently stopped doing local cash trades.

It’s kinda ironic given their name contains “Local”. What’s left for them? We have no idea.
GCTrading Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/GCTrading/)
This sub is a common location for redditors to gather and trade their gift card for cash and other cards. The good part about it is, as it’s hosted by reddit there are no transaction fees. The rates here tend to be a lot better. The bad part is there is even less protecting you here than at paxful. There is no built in escrow. Although the community moderators are very responsive and good at kicking scammers out, there are a ton of people out there looking to take advantage of you.
What’s next for CardxCoin?
There are many great features in its future. The next feature on the list is the introduction of a referral program. People who love cardxcoin and tell their friends should be rewarded. Soon, people who refer a friend to cardxcoin will get a bonus of in cryptocurrency.
